Acting coach Sara-Ann P. Semedo is back by popular demand! Join this fun, free acting workshop series to celebrate diverse voices, gain or hone acting skills, and participate in a live performance here at Sturgis Library.

The goal of this workshop is to create a small ensemble cast highlighting diverse experiences, bringing text to life from the page to the stage.

Participants will select a poem, scene, or monologue and rehearse it over the course of two workshops before performing it live for family, friends, and community members.

Workshop- Tuesday, November 19, 2024 from 5:00-6:30

Performance- Tuesday, December 3, 2024 from 5:30-6:30

About Sara-Ann P. Semedo:
Sara-Ann P. Semedo has a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre from Sarah Lawrence College. She is an Academic Coordinator at Cape Cod Community College and adjunct faculty at several area public colleges where she teaches Theatre Arts, Black Studies and Communication courses. She is a member of Actors’ Equity and SAG-AFTRA. She has performed at the Lambs Theatre in New York City, Wheelock Family Theatre, Lyric Stage Company of Boston, North Shore Music Theatre, Boston Playwrights Theatre, and Wellesley Repertory Theatre, Cape Cod Theatre Company and has completed several national tours. She is the host of Intentional Critical Conversations at Cape Cod Community College and helps to co-direct the Racial Equity Justice Institutes curriculum with both staff and faculty.

Ms. Semedo will provide copies of contemporary poems, monologues, and scenes from a diverse set of authors. Participants are encouraged to bring pieces that speak to them. For more information, email Sara-Ann P. Semedo at ssemedo@capecod.edu.
